Jean Paul Chauvet, Chief Executive Officer

Lightspeed's board of directors appointed JP Chauvet to the role of Chief Executive Officer, on February 2, 2022.

Chauvet joined Lightspeed in October 2012 as Chief Revenue Officer and became a board member in September 2013. In April 2016, he was named President and throughout his tenure had been integral to advancing Lightspeed’s mission, including leading many of the Company’s strategic acquisitions, its listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange, and leading the launch and growth of the Lightspeed Payments platform. Chauvet has also overseen the Company’s robust customer growth worldwide.

With over 17 years of technology leadership experience and a strategic mind to match, JP has been a key element of Lightspeed's continued growth. By developing Lightspeed's go-to-market strategy and taking a more direct approach to engaging independent businesses, he has helped equip over 150,000 retail and hospitality customer locations worldwide with cutting-edge technology. Prior to joining Lightspeed, Mr. Chauvet held various leadership positions at Atex Group across Europe and Asia where his last role was CEO, EMEA. Prior to Joining Atex, Mr. Chauvet was the VP, Sales and Marketing of Nstein Technologies and from 2000 to 2005, he was the VP, Sales and Marketing of IXIASOFT Technologies Inc.

Brandon Nussey, Chief Operating Officer

Brandon Nussey was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in May of 2022. Previously he held the position of Chief Financial Officer.

As Lightspeed’s Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for operational execution of the business in the areas of people, legal, IT, payment and financial services operations and acquisition integration. He also leads Lightspeed’s key strategic business partnerships, and helps drive successful execution of Lightspeed’s financial services strategies.

Prior to Lightspeed he was Chief Financial Officer at D2L Inc, a SaaS-based education technology provider. Brandon also held a series of roles at Descartes Systems Group, advancing to the CFO position in 2004. In April of 2018 Mr Nussey joined Lightspeed as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer and oversaw the Company’s IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange and subsequent listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Nussey is Treasurer and a Board Member at the Loran Scholars Foundation, and also sits on the board of Thinkific Labs Inc.

Asha Bakshani, Chief Financial Officer

Asha Bakshani was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer in April of 2022 reporting directly to the CEO, JP Chauvet. Previous to that she was Lightspeed’s Executive VP of Finance.

Ms Bakshani leads all finance-related functions including financial reporting, core accounting, internal audit, financial planning & analysis, tax, internal systems and investor relations. She started her career at Lightspeed in November 2014. She has over 15 years of experience as a finance leader in the technology/media space.

Before joining Lightspeed, Ms Bakshani was the Senior Vice President of Finance at Cineflix, a media production and distribution company. Prior to that, she spent almost 10 years working in public accounting at Deloitte and Arthur Andersen and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Canada and a CFA charterholder. She holds a B. Comm and Graduate Diploma in Accounting from McGill University. Asha also sits on the board of a non profit organization, Spread the Joy.

Michael DeSimone, Chief Business Officer

Mr. DeSimone is Lightspeed's Chief Business Officer. In his role, Mr. DeSimone leads the commercial strategy for Lightspeed's Global Retail, Hospitality and Financial Services businesses. Previous to joining Lightspeed, Mr. DeSimone was the CEO of ShopKeep, the top-rated tablet-to-cloud payments and point of sale platform, which was acquired by Lightspeed in 2020. Mr. DeSimone is a global executive, with more than 25 years of experience working within the financial services and technology industries. Prior to joining ShopKeep, Mr. DeSimone was President and CEO of Borderfree, where he was responsible for the overall strategic direction including the company’s transformation from an online currency conversion service to a provider of global e-commerce solutions. He led the company through it’s successful IPO in 2014 and subsequent sale to Pitney Bowes in 2015. Mr. DeSimone has also earned recognition on the Smart CEO's Future 50 list in 2015 and was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Ana Wight , General Manager, Retail

Ms. Wight has over 15 years’ experience across strategy and operations in the TMT sector across both B2B and B2C, and in corporate, management consulting, and start-up environments. Bringing a blend of strategic and operational expertise, analytical thinking and rigour, and a strong bias for action and execution to the teams and organizations that she leads, Ms. Wight has a strong track record of creating high performing, highly engaged teams.

Prior to her role as GM Retail at Lightspeed, Ms. Wight was the CEO of Vend. Before leading Vend, Ms. Wight held roles at McKinsey & Company (SVP), Microsoft, and Spark. Ana received a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, graduating with honours, from the University of Auckland.

Peter Dougherty, General Manager, Hospitality

Mr. Dougherty is the General Manager of Hospitality at Lightspeed. Never shy to tackle challenges, Mr. Dougherty has helped grow Lightspeed from Startup to Scale and has played a key role in launching Lightspeed Restaurant in the Americas, rebuilding core components of the GTM teams and most recently, turning Partnerships into one of the fastest growing groups in the business.

Outside of work, Mr. Dougherty loves a project and spending time with his family in the country. Mr. Dougherty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Canadian History from Concordia University.

Jona Georgiou, General Manager, Payments

Ms. Georgiou has over 16 years of progressive payments and financial service experience at various fast-paced organizations and start-ups. A creative leader, she brings well-honed skills in strategy, decision making, and team building and leading to guide change that supports strategic goals. In her current role, Ms. Georgiou is responsible for creating and delivering pioneering payment and financial service experience to merchants and their customers on a global scale. Ms. Georgiou holds a Specialized Honours degree from York University in Economics, Math, and Statistics.

Guillaume Jacquet, Executive Vice President, Product

Mr. Jacquet joined Lightspeed in May 2019 through Chronogolf’s acquisition, a SaaS golf platform he co-founded in 2013. Since then, he has played many integral roles, from transforming Chronogolf into one of the fastest growing products at Lightspeed to now overseeing the 700-person Product and Technology team, where he is laser focused on delivering our One Lightspeed strategy. In tandem, Mr. Jacquet serves as an investor, mentor and board member for several tech startups. Mr. Jacquet holds a Master 1 in Finance from the Université Paris Dauphine and a Master of Science in Accounting & Finance from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Jean-David Saint-Martin, Chief Revenue and Customer Officer

Mr. St-Martin joined Lightspeed in May 2019 through the acquisition of Chronogolf, a SaaS company he co-founded in 2013. In October 2019 he was promoted to Senior Director of Global Account Management and in July 2020 he became our Senior Vice President of Global Sales.

Prior to founding and growing his own company, Mr. St-Martin accumulated five years of experience in Venture Capital and Private Equity at Teralys Capital in Montreal and GE Equity in London, UK.

Mr. St-Martin holds a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce in International Business from the University of Ottawa

Daniel Micak, Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Mr. Micak has served as our General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since September 2018. Prior to that, Mr. Micak was VP, Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at D2L Inc. between June 2017 and July 2018, and Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary with D2L Inc. between September 2011 and June 2017.

Mr. Micak also worked in private practice as an Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP prior to D2L. Mr. Micak holds a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English Rhetoric and Professional Writing from the University of Waterloo.

Crystal Caligiuri, EVP Customers

Ms. Caligiuri is a global executive, with over 20 years experience and a proven track record of building, scaling and transforming DTC and B2B businesses in the Retail, Ecommerce, Fintech and Saas industries. With experience in management consulting, start-up and corporate environments, Ms. Caligiuri brings a blend of strategic and operational expertise, as well as a track record of developing talent, building teams and delivering strong business results to Lightspeed.

Prior to joining Lightspeed, Ms. Caligiuri was Chief Customer Officer at Shopkeep, the top-rated tablet-to-cloud payments and point of sale platform, which was acquired by Lightspeed in 2020. Before her role at Shopkeep, Ms. Caligiuri held several leadership roles at Gilt Groupe, launching Gilt Groupe's international business, scaling its operations and driving customer experience. Crystal received a Bachelor's degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia University.

Rani Hammond, Chief People and Culture Officer

Rani Hammond joined Lightspeed Commerce Inc in April 2022 as the Company’s Chief People and Culture Officer.

She has accountability for the organization’s full talent life cycle services across all industry verticals and connected offerings. Ms. Hammond manages a global team, covering all functional People and Culture disciplines with a maniacal focus on partnering and fostering business growth across the globe with offices across Canada, USA, EMEA and APAC.

Ms. Hammond’s prior experience includes more than 25 years of human resource management and executive experience. Most recently she spent 18 months as GenesisCare’s Chief People & Culture Officer, reporting to the CEO & Founder. Prior to this, she spent 3yrs as 2U Inc’s first Chief People Officer, reporting to CEO and Cofounder with responsibility for advancing the organization’s mission of eliminating the backrow in higher education. In addition she has had several roles within human resources at organizations such as David’s Bridal, Hilton Worldwide and Wolters Kluwer’s.

A native of Australia, Ms. Hammond has Bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Human Resource Management, and is currently working on her Master’s in Accounting. Additionally, she has served on the Board of Operations HUG-A-HERO, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the children of military service men and women. She currently resides in Northern Virginia, with her husband, son, daughter and 2 dogs.
